Scott Reither spent his formative years on the rugged coastline of Central California, famed for a fierce beauty celebrated in many of Ansel Adam's immortal images, and an eclectic culture, that inspired Steinbeck's rich characters. It is not surprising then, that it was here where Scott gained an appreciation for the beauty of the land.

Later, while traveling in South East Asia, Scott realized that photography had the unique power to translate his passion for the beauty of land and vibrancy of cultures to others. Being in a world so different from the daily routine of the Western World, he found himself an unbiased yet compassionate observer of the world around him. On his return he took up residence on the island of Maui and fully dedicated his life to capturing life's poignant and mysterious beauty on film.
