This photograph depicts a timeworn and deteriorated pier stretching out onto a lake, which has been captured through the use of long exposure, resulting in a perfectly smooth lake surface. The hills in the background provide a sense of depth to the image. The pier, though broken and weathered, still stands and stretches out into the distance. The viewer can't help but wonder about the stories and memories that it holds and how it has stood the test of time.
