LEADING LINES

LEADING LINES

from $1,300.00

Venice, Italy

The viewer is drawn in by the striking terrazzo floor in the foreground, which creates stunning leading lines that guide the eye toward the iconic Doge's Palace and San Marco Square in the distance. The Grand Canal, smoothed and spacious from a long exposure of several minutes, winds its way between the two architectural wonders. San Marco Square is the central square of Venice, known for its iconic Basilica di San Marco, which houses priceless Byzantine art and gold mosaics. It is also the site of the Campanile bell tower, one of the tallest structures in Venice and a recognizable landmark. The scene, illuminated by the morning light, invites the viewer to pause and contemplate the timeless elegance of this historic city, preserved in this stunning photograph.

Designed to evoke order in the chaos

There is always stillness to be found - even within bustling environments that heave with steel and cement and artificial light. Man-made elements that are so far from the natural beauty that normally brings us peace, can still be a source of internal harmony. How? Symmetry. Lines and space and light and shadow. These elements of design speak to our inner soul. These photos showcase the connectedness of the world in a symphonic web of streets, poles and buildings – unbreakable forms coming together in unexpected unity. They help us create order within the world and within ourselves.

Science tells us about the power of aesthetic pleasure

Well-tailored suits. Shiny cars. Intricate tile mosaics. It’s an odd trait of our species but clearly humans are drawn to pleasing aesthetics. We all know that beautiful things make us feel good. A piece of art - whether a building, an outfit or photograph - has the ability to uplift our day and sooth our anxious thoughts. Studies confirm that art promotes psychological well-being and even improves focus by enhancing our ability to perceptually engage with an object. That’s why it is so beneficial to bring art into the spaces where we work, live, socialize and seek rejuvenation. The positive rush we get when we look at a beautiful image can be a powerful moment that shapes each day.

Bring beauty into your home

Scientists have confirmed that viewing scenes of beauty in art can positively impact your health and well-being almost as effectively as visiting a beautiful environment. Art allows us to enjoy our morning coffee at a temple in Kyoto and cuddle up with our pets by the stunning canals of Venice. To spend our days in the bustle of the city and return home to the tranquility of a breathtaking view. Fine art photography is more than an image - it is your calm in the chaos, an uplifting breath on a troubling day, and the stillness to embrace your most authentic emotions and nurture your best self.
